So, it's Sunday evening and Saturn is driving me crazy...running in the house, playing keep away...*sigh*. He has alot of pent up energy he needs to release. Since its been so hot, we've been staying in and keeping cool. Finally I just decided to take him to the dog park at Adaire. Dispite the weather, I hoped that he would get a little running in while I walked around the park...it's an effective way to keep him moving.
Since it was so late in the evening I knew I was not going home to cook. So I made sure I knew what I wanted to order and from where. Once I got Saturn packed up in the car, I called ahead to Red Lobster. Sure it was Father's Day, but the time the gave me until my order was ready was 20 minutes. No problem, from the dog park to the restaurant was about that. So I get there to the restaurant, walk up to the bar, and paid for my order, which was not ready. Ok, yeah, its busy. Order comes up and it was wrong. Luckily the barkeep caught this. He sent it back to the kitchen (basically all they had to do was swap out the lobster tail with some grilled chicke). The minutes are ticking by while in the back of my head I am thinking that its still warm outside and Saturn is in the car (even with windows opened). I'm sitting there watching patrons who placed take out orders after me walk in and then out with their foodstuffs. A busboy walks up to me to ask if I needed anything, I asked to speak to the manager.
Well, I calmly explained my situation. Basically what would have been a quick trip to pick up a meal, turned into take out with a 40 minute prep time. I was a upset because I felt that I was being ignored. Furthermore, had the trip been quick, Saturn would not have delt with a long wait in a very warm car. In the end, I got about $15 in vouchers (which pretty much covered the cost of the meal) for my trouble.
I made sure to tip the busboy for his attentiveness.

Happy Srping to us all! Its been a long time since I've posted and a lot has happened. If anything, y'all should be checking my Facebook since I've been make most of my posts there. You probably noticed that the unemployment counter has been takend down because I landed a position. I enjoyed some well deserved R&R in Carolina Beach (can't wait to go back) and things are picking up again. This morning I was moved to make a post thanks to Lady Gaga. I'm hearing this song alot, and I don't like it. I must be getting old. Kinda reminds me of when Rhianna relesed Umbrella . Never liked that song to begin with.

So, the Kohl's department store chain has these new commercials airing. The background music is from Barenaked Ladies' 2003 Album 'Everything to Everyone' and the song is 'Shopping'. I've always loved BNL and I cannot fault them for licensing their songs. Hell, it makes for good income during these though economic times. However, if you listen to the entire song, you discover what I like about the band. Their lyrics always come with a dose of satire and an hint of sarcasm. When I heard the song in 2003 with its euphoric and upbeat Pop sound to be the perfect commentary on the comsumer society we then lived in.

Well you know that it's going to be alright I think it's gonna be alright Everything will always be alright When we go shopping
Well you know that it's going to be alright When we go shopping It's always lalalalala... Shopping spree begin It's always lalalalala... Everybody wins
So shutup And never stop Let's shop Until we drop
[CHORUS]
It's always lalalalala... Shopping never end It's always lalalalala... Shopping with our friends Shopping once again
It's always lalalalala... [x4]
It's never enough Until you've got all the stuff When the going gets rough Just shop with somebody tough
